An awesome product with great quality that’s easy to use right out of the package!
This is my second pair of Raycon earbuds. I use the E85 for conference calls and Zoom meetings.
I'm comparing the Work E85s side by side with the Airpods Pro. Connection: I use an LG V60 Dual Screen Android phone and the Bluetooth connection was immediate. When I open the case they connect before I can get the earbud in my ear. Case: The case is about the same dimensions as the Airpods Pro case, just a little thicker. It’s got some grip to the case, which is better than the slippery surface on the Airpods. The buds are easier to get out of the case on the E85s than on the Airpods Pro. I can barely get the Airpods out of the case. Sound and Volume: The depth of the sound on the E85s is better. It sounds like they are made more for music than the Airpods Pro. I believe the Airpods Pro are slightly louder at full volume. Noise Cancellation: On the E85s with the noise cancellation on, I can barely hear myself if I talk loudly. ANC seems to work really well. With the ANC on, tapping the right earbud makes a little crackly noise that almost sounds mechanical. It does go away with ANC off. Controls: It will take a minute to get used to the touch controls. They require more force than I'm used to from the original Airpods and the play/pause functions aren’t as simple as a double tap. It almost requires a long tap long tap. Relating to a computer mouse, it is grandma click speed to get the buds to play/pause. The original Airpods were reliably normal mouse speed double click. The Airpods Pro have a touch sensor that requires almost a button push. You have to grab the actual stem. Even with the tap problems I’m having with the E85s, I still prefer the tapping to the Airpods Pro button. The Airpods Pro have a forward/back function with 2/3 clicks. If the E85s have a similar function, it is not written in the manual. The E85s have volume control up and down with single clicks, which the Airpods don't have. It would be better if you could control the up and down from one ear bud, but it’s an up (right) down (left) set up. Siri/Google Assistant: I don't use Siri/Google Assistant for anything, but I tried it and it works. Might take some getting used to. Size: The E85s are very similar in size to the Airpods Pro, but the Airpods Pro are a little more slender where they transition from the in-ear portion to the stem, so they look a little less bulky. Where the E85s transition from the in-ear portion to the stem, there's a Raycon logo that I think looks fine, but it makes that part of the ear bud bulkier than the Airpods. The stems on both the E85s and the Airpods Pro are similar in length and both rake forward slightly. They are noticeably shorter than the original Airpods. Feel: So far they feel fine in my ear. I’ll have to update my review once I’ve had them in for a full day or accidentally slept with them in. Question: What is the water resistance rating?
