After 28 days of working with Raycon support, Raycon has completely failed to make the AI Notetaker work for the basic purpose I bought it for. I purchased it to record and summarize longer tabletop gaming sessions of about 3 to 5 hours, but the longer recordings repeatedly failed to complete and produced no usable transcription, no usable summary, and no actual output. One 5-hour recording took approximately 5 to 6 hours just to transfer, then got stuck processing for more than 30 hours and never completed. I provided Raycon with multiple updates and log files, including logs showing repeated HTTP 500 Internal Server Errors on a longer recording, which strongly suggests a backend problem with larger files. Raycon repeatedly acknowledged that the delays were unacceptable and said the issue was being escalated to engineering, leadership, product, or the VP of Product, but I still received no concrete technical explanation, no action plan, no fix timeline, no phone support option, and no final refund authorization. In my opinion, people should be very cautious before buying the Raycon AI Notetaker or Raycon Notes Premium subscription until Raycon proves that the product can reliably handle longer recordings and that their customer support can provide meaningful human help instead of repeated AI-style acknowledgements.
In order for me,and this is just me, they do not fit around my ears very well. I have to kinda push them into my ears to hear well. And that kinda puts too much pressure on my ears. I will say my ears are not very well shaped. I probably should have gotten the bone conducting ones.
I bought this for my wife who is a hospice nurse. She is everywhere and anywhere. She used to hand right all that info which can get very long and not a timesaver. I got her the recorded and the first time she used she was in love with it. It cut finishing the reviews at night to finishing at work. She’d stay up until midnight most nights finishing her notes and now with Raycon recorder she finishes during her eight hour shift.
I shopped around for one of these and decided on trying this one out. I have used it two months and it has been a game changer. I would recommend to anyone using for work or personal life. I will say the download and AI notes takes awhile on longer meetings, but it has been worth it. I would recommend as I feel they will be making updates. So far, the battery life has been great. Upgraded to the high level for hours per month, and so far I feel like it was worth it. You have a lot to choose from, but this one has been solid. I would recommend so far.
